Snippets of a recent discussion among believers.

Does the path matter for a person to reach saving faith (whatever that is) in God? Does not Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Wicca, the occult, Christianity, and religious practices of indigenous people groups around the world all lead to the same God?

We can’t know who gets into heaven and who does not. Or if “all” go to heaven and there is no hell. What about all those who died before Jesus? There are many ways to God. You only confuse those looking for a way to God to claim Jesus is the only way.

Is this the position of the visible church today? Culturally, the devil has won the war of ideas. The teachings of demons is now readily accepted within the visible church. Or is that a statement too far?

So what is faith? Hebrews 11:1-2 & 6 – Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. …6 And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.

Nothing about Jesus there. That must mean we can follow the god of our own making, really believing, really pleasing our god, and will be rewarded. Shangri-la – What’s all the fuss about God and gods? They’re all the same.

Did God really say, “This is my Son, my Chosen One; listen to him!” [Luke 9:35]? Do not be deceived by the twisting tongue of the serpent, “You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” [Gen 3:4-5].
