About the Author
by Dr. Philip ZimmermanDr. Philip Zimmerman is a biblical scholar, author, and host of the Way of the Bible podcast, where he explores Scripture with depth and accessibility for modern seekers. He desires to equip believers for works of service, "until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Eph. 4:13).
His academic credentials include a Doctor of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary, a Master of Divinity from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, and Master's and Bachelor's degrees in Civil Engineering from LSU.
His ministry experience includes ordination in the Gospel ministry, 12 years as Chaplain and Bible Department Head at a Christian college-preparatory school, and over 30 years as a small group leader and Sunday school teacher.
With a scholar's mind and a pastor's heart, Dr. Zimmerman brings both rigor and spiritual passion to his work. His writing reflects a deep engagement with the Christian mystical tradition, rooted in Scripture and shaped by 36 consecutive years of reading the Bible cover to cover. He believes fiction can be a powerful vehicle for theological truth, reaching readers' hearts in ways purely didactic works cannot.
DESTIN / A JOHN STRIKER NOVEL represents his vision for a new kind of Christian fiction—stories that don't shy away from spiritual warfare, moral complexity, or the radical demands of authentic faith. Drawing on both Catholic and Protestant traditions, the novel creates a spiritually rich narrative for all Christians seeking a deeper relationship with God.
Dr. Zimmerman divides his time between Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Homewood, Alabama. When not writing or podcasting, he can be found studying Scripture, mentoring believers, and contemplating the mysteries of faith.
