John draws his strength from his faith, dedicating himself to helping and improving the lives of others. He is a likable protagonist and very easy to root for. I also liked the complicated friendship between Ed, Bruce, and Mike. Hunter and Chase/Rebecca were interesting secondary characters, too. There's a cliffhanger toward the end that only makes you more eager to read the sequel. All in all, drama lovers are in for a treat.
