Carnage of philosophical atheism/nihilism of the late 19th and early 20th centuries and the sex, drugs, and rock & roll of the 1960’s evaporated moral and ethical standards and the family unit. OBEDIENCE as a principle of behavior has been CANCELED in the West.

This is nothing new and was in common in the ancient world. And much like the ancient world the remaining days of those nations where OBEDIENCE has been CANCELED will be short lived. Without recognition of obedience and moral order culture collapses and societal structures implode. 

What replaces imploded societies are typically tyrannical totalitarian regimes run by a few elites propped up by a strong military and police forces. History proves when OBEDIENCE is no longer CANCELED the proponents of such former policies are first to be executed. 

Our cultural poet of the 1960’s, Bob Dylan, put it best in his song “Gotta Serve Somebody.” The refrain of the song affirms that we have only two options when it comes to OBEDIENCE.

Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord

But you're gonna have to serve somebody

 

Joshua 24:15 – “And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the LORD, choose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

Romans 6:19 – For just as you once presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness leading to sanctification.
