UNION WITH GOD

Jesus prayed for our UNION with God in John 17:20-21 –  “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, 21 that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”

Being born again in the Holy Spirit makes us a NEW CREATION in-Christ and brings us into UNION with God. Because of sin and the flesh, we don’t experience this UNION or even know it’s available. 

Paul tells us UNION is not only available but is the goal of our faith walk. Eph 4:11-16 – And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the UNITY of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love.

To be the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ is UNION with God. See John 10:30; 14:19; 16:28; Col 1:15; Heb 1:3. 

What are we waiting for? Or should I ask, What is holding us back? Simply Believe God and Follow Jesus.
