Welcome to Episode #103 of Way of the Bible podcast. This is our seventh of eight episodes in our thirteenth mini-series entitled, General Epistles | James to Jude. On this episode we’re going to have a conversation with Dr. Nathon Jones. Dr. Jones is the Internet Evangelist of Lamb & Lion Ministries headquartered in McKinney, Texas.
The topic of our conversation centers around the blessed hope of Christians, ”the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” [Tit 2:13].
Given we just completed overviewing every book of the New Testament, save one, I thought it would be a great topic to discuss before we complete our overview of the entire Bible. On upcoming Mini-series 14 we’ll overview the book of Revelation.
At least 17 of 39 books in the Old Testament mention Jesus’ return.
Jesus’ return is spoken of in 23 of the 27 books in the New Testament.
Taken by chapters in the New Testament, Seven out of every ten Chapters refer to his return. Or in other words, one out of every 30 verses in the New Testament teach Jesus is returning; and by inference, encouraging us to live in a manner expecting his return at any moment.
