Welcome to Episode #190 of the Way of the Bible podcast. This is our sixth of eight episodes in our Twenty-Fourth mini-series entitled The Return of Jesus Christ [3]. On today’s episode, we will explore the second coming of Jesus in contrast to the greatest news for the church —the Great Snatching Away, or Rapture of the church.
On our last episode (#189), we addressed a plethora of New Testament passages that speak of the return of Jesus Christ for his bride, the Church. Jesus is coming back aerially, the same way he went up in Acts 1:9-11. Jesus is returning to snatch believers off the earth before the tribulation that is to follow, which will come upon every person remaining on the earth. That tribulation ends on the Day of the Lord, when Jesus returns bodily to judge the world and establish his kingdom that will have no end.
