Episode #127

Traditional Protestant practices occur in congregational settings with emphasis on worship and a message. Traditional Roman Catholic practices are also congregational with emphasis on the presentation and sharing of the Eucharistic meal.

Protestants and Catholics are similar in that both are congregational and gather at scheduled days, times, and locations for worship/mass. Both have smaller group meetings as well for prayer, worship, intimacy, fellowship, and accountability.

But what about the main course for believers of following Jesus/walking with God? [Reminder: Jesus is God]. The reason for believers to follow/walk is found in Ephesians 3:13 – “until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”

Attaining fullness of Christ involves progressive sanctification for every believer by the Holy Spirit and the word of God. It involves daily, hourly, and even moment by moment guidance to set us free from our minds of flesh and empowers us to live in the mind of the Spirit.

By our faith we were reborn in spirit by the Holy Spirit into eternal life. We are now children of light, children of God, co-heirs of Christ, and citizens of heaven.  and residents of the kingdom of God on earth while still living in the “world,” but no longer “OF” the world.

To follow Jesus/walk with God is to worship, love, and serve God in all we think, say, and do. With the doing joyfully done in accordance with God’s will learned in a life that follows Jesus/walks with God.
