How did Abel and all the prophets of God that followed know of God? Short answer: GOD DID NOT LEAVE…

God created mankind from the dust of the earth. God moved man into His Garden to work and keep it. God created woman, a fit helper for man, in the Garden from man’s rib. Mankind sinned and was expelled from Garden back to earth.

God blessed mankind. Commanded them to multiply and fill the earth and gave dominion over the creatures. Gave them every seed-bearing plant and tree with seeded fruit for food. God’s blessing and dominion given to mankind was not rescinded. God’s presence never left the earth.

The way back to the Garden with God was cutoff, but knowing God was not. OT saints remained in their trespasses and sins yet knew God by presence of His Spirit. NT believers are reborn by the Spirit, in-Christ, a NEW CREATION.

Jesus opened unique intimacy with God the Father. Hebrews 4:16 – Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Jesus opened the heavenly Jerusalem – But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable angels in festal gathering, and to the assembly of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God, the judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, and to Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.

The key to unlocking this Truth [GOD DID NOT LEAVE] is found in the account of Abel [Gen 4:1-12] who was mentioned by Jesus in Matt 23:34-35 and twice in Hebrews (Heb 11:4; 12:24). What and who did Abel know?
