The Bible is telling a single story that involves the reconciliation of all things in heaven, on the earth, and under the earth to God through Christ's blood shed on the cross. All along the way of human history since Adam, God has been rescuing people off the earth for life in His eternal kingdom that shall have no end.

What a person believes has "eternal" consequences and determines their eternal destination. What a person does, good or evil, will be judged and used to determine rewards in the Millennial Kingdom or level of punishment in hell.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 "Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.   For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil."
